I'm a musician. I'm going to be traveling. I need to bring about 60 to 70 music CD's, and 60 to 70 music video DVD's.

I would prefer to keep the original cases, booklets and covers intact if possible and I find plastic sleeves awkward to deal with causing more scratches. Damage control and sun/heat damage protection will be big factors.

So far, I like Vaultz hard shell cases the best but I don't like using plastic slide-in sleeves. CaseLogic nylon and plastic insert cases might be more convenient but I really want a very indestructible hard shell case.

Any suggestions for other systems? Thanks.

Wow! I went to the web site and I am impressed with Vaultz products. From your description of what you want I would buy the CD Cabinets, they will hold the CDs in the original plastic cases.

Vaultz CD Cabinets Official Site VZ01049, VZ01049, VZ01173 (http://tinyurl.com/4mqw2q - broken link)

In a bit of a flip I want to thank you for leading me to these products.

Talking CD Travel Storage

I've been looking also! Here's what I just found: CD Cases at Guitar Center
These cases are not your typical cases. These are built for travel.

You will find several that are made by "Odyssey". They are insulated with carpeting or foam, etc. They are also built like a DJ's or Musician's gig case for equipment.

Hope this helps all,

Here's a link to the actual manufacturer:

They are not priced like your everyday walmart price, but they are going to last a lifetime!

The Vaultz option is nice but will be heavy for travelling.

Too bad MP3 players are not an option.
