I was wondering if it is possible to play an Ipod through an ATT U-verse cable box. Perhaps via the USB?

I thought I had heard my friend saying something about it, but I can't seem to find anything on it.

cable box:

Try hooking it up to the USB and see what happens. Can't hurt it.

I think the USB ports on those things are intended for managing the device, not playing things through it.

Usually A/V equipment that supports iPod playthrough has iPod specific jacks built-in.
