I noticed the major difference between these two boxes is that

The HD cable Box allows you to check the program guide for the next 7 days

The Digital cable box only allows to you to check the program guide for the next 3 hours

Anyone know why?

Comcast doesn't have a customer service line for questions about programming or cable box questions just BILLING, So that;s why I asked here.

You mean the major difference between them besides one providing HD programming, right?

Is the HD box a DVR? I haven't seen a non-DVR box in so long I've forgotten how far out the guide goes, but I'd be surprised if even a non-DVR box only goes out three hours.

The HD cable Box
With a DVR or w/o a DVR it has a datsbase program that is filled with data from a full range of excel files.

The Digital cable box
This is a no frills box. It recieves SD signals in a digital format. Thus its database program is limited to access much less data from all the excel files.

(trying to keep it at non-techie as possible)

Billing is for payments and questions about bills. There is no one for them to transfer me to because the only issue they deal with is if you can;t get cable at all and then they will send a technician out

If you have questions about programming or cable box features there is no one to talk to which is sad.

I almost wanna go back to Comcast and get the HD box back so I can view programming schedules for 2 weeks ahead like I was doing back in May. I wasn't sure what I was paying $9.95 a month for in May but now that I no longer have the HD Box it is clear what I was paying for.

It was a HD-Cable Box not a DVR and it would allow me to see the program schedule for a channel for the next 2 weeks.

This box I have now only shows me the program schedule for the next 3 hours

The number to call at Comcast is 1-800-XFINITY (1-800-934-6489).

I already stated that the number is for billing questions and payment.

There is no number for programming questions or questions about cable box features

I have Comcast digital, just checked and can see the programming thru Tues. Customer Service covers any questions, if the person you speak to can't answer your question they'll know to whom it can be directed. I think you need a new box.
