Does anyone know if Sept 11th Memorial will be held this year. I Know that Cookeville has had them every year. But, I don't hear about them until the day before.

The paper published last week the high school's memorial service which is open to the public. It sounds like it'll be a good service. Here's the info:

Herald Citizen - CHS program to feature 9 11 Pentagon first responder

They are combining the JROTC Veterans Day program with the September 11th memorial this year. I have been to the last three JROTC services and the first time I went, I was moved to tears. The WWII and Korea veterans show up, some dressed in uniform, and they stand and are recognized. It's very special. It's one of the most special things about living in Cookeville, actually. This sort of thing doesn't happen just anywhere.

Just one of many reasons why I plan to retire in the Cookeville area.

Thanks for the info. I did see that there will be a service on Sept 11th @3:00, infront of the Court House, on the square. I'd like to go to the one at the High School, but I'll be working. I hope both of them get a big turnout.
