I'm looking for houses to rent and was wondering if anyone could give any information on this particular area. How does it compare to other areas in Cookeville? For what it's worth, I'm 23 and taking a job that involves mostly working in the hospital. I need to rent a house and not an apartment because I have a dog and a need for a yard. Thanks!

There is a very large area of Cookeville that is located southeast of Spring and Jefferson. For the most part, it is perfectly fine, safe, etc.

If you are referring to the more immediate area SE of Spring/Jefferson, that would be within walking distance to the courthouse square and has a number of mid-century homes (among other styles). Capshaw School is located in this area. It is mostly a nice, quiet area.

Ask if you need more info. about this area.

That's right. In addition, one of Cookeville's most expensive neighborhoods, Capshaw Woods, is in that area. It is one of the most sought-after parts of town because it's within walking distance of Capshaw (considered one of the best elementary schools in the region) as well as the courthouse square which has coffee shops, very nice restaurants, and some shopping. It's also a beautiful area with rolling hills and thick woods with huge, mature trees.
