Default Afforable Health Insurance in Cookeville

The wife and I are moving to the Cookeville area (Baxter) and will need to purchase health insurance for her and most likely I can access VA since I'm former Military. What are the affordable options available in the area if we are retired but under 65?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Since there's a VA clinic in Cookeville, that'll work out great for you. As for health insurance for your wife, I know of people who use Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee and are happy with it, but I don't know how much it costs or what other options are.

Baxter is a beautiful area, isn't it?

Thanks for the response!

Yes, Baxter is a beautiful place. Cookeville is a nice town also. I can't wait to make the move and start our next chapter in life.

Back when we were having to research this, we looked into going through Farm Bureau to get Blue Cross Blue Shield. It was MUCH cheaper getting it that way. I think it's called THR? THC? You will see it when you go to their website. The folks at the Cookeville office were very nice and helpful.

That's good info. My new home owners insurance is through Farm Bureau. Thanks!
