OK just a few more pictures from my weekend in the Upper Cumberland:

Downtown Wartburg. I promise you, this is all there is of downtown Wartburg. It was nice and quiet.



This is all that's left of the original York Institute, the high school in Jamestown. It was started by WW1 hero Sargent York, the local sharpshooter who came home to the rugged and isolated Upper Cumberland determined that education should be available to all (Sgt. York himself was practically illiterate). York Institute has a new facility, and it's still run by the Tennessee Department of Education. I wish they'd fix up the original facility:
