An article in the Herald-Citizen indicates that the unemployment rate in Cookeville decreased by 3.6 percent from the 9.3 percent unemployment rate at this time last year. Even after that drop, Cookeville has an unemployment rate higher than 22 of Tennessee's 25 cities with populations greater than 25,000. See the article by clicking on the link below.
