On his Facebook page, Cookeville mayor Ricky Shelton shared a blog by Tennessee naturalist Chuck Sutherland entitled "8 Secrets of Cookeville and Putnam County." These "secrets" are waterfalls, land formations, caves, and trails that, for the most part, most people don't know about. Since most of these areas are on private property, visitors must have the property owner's permission. But Sutherland provided pictures and descriptions of these places. Some, like the seven waterfalls and three natural arches at Window Cliffs are now owned by the state and will become a state park in the very near future. Another, Mill Creek Falls, has a good chance of becoming a state park in the not so distant future.
