I ordered a topo map from Cabelia's. It's a huge help, aspecialy since alot of roads are rural and have no street signs out side of the city, and mapquest is useless around here.

The land here is gorgeous. The shopping is not so hot. There are no major stores like Sears, Penneys, Target, Belks, and no major restaraunts, only a Ruby Tuesday. As for the four wheeling, I guess if you live in the County, you could do that, but please respect your neighbors and the environment.

You'll have to go to Cookeville for the major stores, only
a short hop.

The west end of Knoxville is just as close and a new, huge mall just went up.

I think you are referring to Turkey Creek? It's not a mall but a very large shopping plaza.

Turkey Creek is at least 20 miles further than Cookeville from Crossville...

Crossville or Crossvegas as some locals call it may also have some good real estate deals too. Crossville in size is around 10,000 people and yet they have over 1000 foreclosed homes on the market. Check out the local paper some of them are begining to show up on the court house steps.

My husband and I just bought a house in Crossville and are moving there next month. The area is beautiful and there is shopping. Our realtor told us they built factory stores there and we can't wait for out move. The homes are beautiful and very affordable. We have seen many towns but Crossville was our favorite.
