Default Are teaching jobs hard to come by in Corpus Christi?

My husband is moving to Corpus Christi for a job next week and while I'm from there, I haven't lived there in 25 years. I am a high school business teacher and will be applying for positions for the 2011-12 school year. Anyone know what the prospects are there for experienced (17 years!) teachers? I'm also certified in English, Technology and Journalism and my experience is mostly in business computer courses.

Good luck with that avenue. My new husband moved down here from Dallas and he has had the hardest time. He has a different teaching field so hopefully it won't be as hard for you. Coaching and PE are very different from yours, but he has been trying for 2 years. The information that I have received from friends within the district is that current/displace teachers from the area get preference over someone from a completly different district.

That's what I'm a little concerned about. Here in San Antonio many teachers are being displaced and positions are being cut by attrition. Thanks for sharing.
