Default Rockport or Palacios

I currently live in So Cal and just purchased a couple of lots in the great state of Texas. My husband and I are looking foward to moving there in about 5 yrs. One lot is located on a canal with a great veiw of Copano Bay in Rockport and the other is in a gated community just outside of a very small town named Palacios, this lot is also located on the water. We will sell one and use the proceeds the build on the other. The both have good and bad things about them so it is hard to decide which on to build on. Can anybody give us any advice about these towns especially Palacios? It seems even people from Texas have never heard of this city.

Yes, I use to live near Palacios when I was a child. I was actually inland in Blessing. After years of being away, in my teens we went there to pick up a friend of my brothers and was pretty well disappointed. You will find that "MOST" towns on the water are going to be economically depressed. Palacios was no exception. I love Texas but Palacios is not one of my favorite spots. It seems like there is not lots of opportunity there and once your there, you might not be able to get out if you don't like it. I though know nothing of the other area you are inquiring about.

Growing up we had a vacation home in Rockport and I loved the place. I went last year back to Rockport with my kids and still love the place and lots of growth in that area. Close to Corpus Cristi and te things to do there not sure about P never been there. All my neighbors go to Rockport and Port Aranasas to play ( I am in San Antonio) so I say live in Rockport sell the other if ya can.
