Default Gulf/Bay Dolphin Tours from Port A?

Our son who is going to turn 5, wants to take a tour to see dolphins. Appear to be a lot of questionable fishing trips but none specifically geared toward tours. Would appreciate suggestions for a good company.

Thanks!

Yes, there are dolphin tours operating out of Port A. I don't know anything about their business but there are plenty of dolphins in the area. I love to fish and whenever I'm around the ship channel I always see dolphin roaming around in the water.

Actually, to be more correct, they are not a "Dolphin", but rather they are a Porpoise. They are an air breathing mammal but they go fishing everyday for a living, so whenever I see them I usually up-anchor and go somewhere else. Fishing usually sucks when you see these guys around, they are better fishermen than I am.

I don't remember the name of the place, but there is a tour that leaves from one of the places along Cotter St. in Port Aransas (Woody's, maybe? I remember "T-Joe" was a crew member on that boat). I took some friends and their kids a few years ago, and we saw a couple dozen dolphins, mostly in the pass. They'll also take you to where you can see the Lydia Ann lighthouse on St. Joseph Island.

We wound up going with Dolphin Encounters along Cotter Road right next to the ferry drop-off. It went really well and our family and friends had a great time. Never saw a Dolphin Encounter sign so it was hard to find. The boats name was Kohootz which is also who we wrote the check to. While out on the water we saw several other boats doing the same. Not sure who they were but they were a little bigger and much nicer.
