Any advice or thoughts on the Salt Lake/Copano bay area. Considering buying an existing home there in the very near future.

I know a couple of people that live there and seem to like it. Be sure you are fully aware of where the flood plains are in the area and the road into it. Tropical depressions can lift the water level 5-6' on occasions.

Most of the Rockport area is pretty nice and there is waterfron on the intracoastal , the port bay on the west adn those Salt lakes. I like the intracoastal best , in part because of its a shorter ride into town or Corpus.

I vacationed in Rockport every summer as a child and many times since. It is a wonderful place. Do not come here expecting the grandeur of Southern California or Hawaii, but, it is a wonderful community. There is art there and many delicious restuarants. The good thing is, if there is something that Rockport lacks, chances are, they have it in Corpus Christi which is only 30 minutes away. It does get rather crowded during summer holidays like memorial day, the 4th, and labor day. but overall, it is peaceful there.
