I am looking to relocate to Dallas next year and notice that there are alot of govt jobs in Corpus Christi, and was wondering how my commute would be from Dallas to there?
And if anyone has any good ideas from moving from Maryland to Dallas, I would love to hear from you! I'm trying to do a 12 month countdown

Downtown Dallas to downtown Corpus Christi is about 430 miles or so south.

I would put the drive at more like 10-12...last time I went home to San Antonio it took me almost 6 hours...it's was grueling. Austin traffic is always a mixed bag.

I flew myself and a buddy down there a couple months back in just over 2 1/2 hours! Let me know if you need a ride

On the other hand, a roadtrip can always be fun. It is what you make it out to be. As a kid we always used to take roadtrips everywhere including to Disney World in Orlando from Dallas

So these days I am actually fond of taking the car somewhere...gives you the chance to drive through all the interesting speed traps...I mean quaint little towns we have here! But I will still take me flying a plane over me driving a car anyday! Much faster and much more fun.

It is huge..if you were to drive the other way from DFW, you'd practically be near Kansas City!!

it just depends on traffic really. ive made that trip to and fro around 20x from 2000-2007.

fastest time i made into corpus... 6hrs.

longest time..... 10hrs.

sometimes traffic is bad in san antonio, dallas and austin... so it takes longer... other times its only bad in one city and not the others. recently ive encounterd traffic jams in waco... cause of accidents.

from: Downtown, Dallas, TX to: corpus christi, texas - Google Maps

People do not live in Dallas and commute to Corpus. As you can see from the map, there are no major cities within a commutable distance to Corpus.

Am I the only person who knows about Mapquest and other sites like this?

How many posts is it now that I keep seeing asking about how far something is from Dallas, its an easy thing to answer for yourself.

Personally I also have an atlas I keep close at hand, DUH.
