Hi - just wondering if anyone can recommend a good bar/pub style place that is on the beach in the Corpus Christi area. I've looked on yelp, trip advisor, google etc and see some options listed but I'm wondering what some locals "in the know" would recommend. Thanks

Mikal May's is on Padre Island: Mikel Mays Beachside Bar & Grill Restaurant in Corpus Christi ? Bob Hall Fishing Pier ? Waterfront Dining on N. Padre Island

Fajitaville and several other bars are on North Beach: https://www.fajitaville.com/

Harrison's Landing is on the Peoples Street T-head and is a nice place to eat and drink: https://harrisonslanding.net/

These should get you started.

Sadly, apart from the 3 listed here, we don't have much "on the beach".
Even Harrison's isn't on the beach, but rather the downtown marina.

On the island, near the water, are the Angry Marlin, Scuttlebutts, and the Pelican.
Further up on Port A are La Barataria, Bernie's Beach House, Fins, and others.

Nearer to Rockport is Paradise Key. If you want a real dive, go to Pop's in Lamar. It made Coastal Living magazine, and for good reason.

I"ll second Harrison's Landing and The Back Porch.

Also check out The Blue Marlin on North Beach, and the Sand Bar at the Holiday Inn on the island, and Barton St. Pub in the Bluff.

Man, I wish The Blue Ghost was still open.

Back Porch in Port A would have been my first mention too! Virginia's on the Bay in Port A is also a casual pub with waterfront views/seats. Neither are "on the beach" though. Keepers is on the pier in Port A and The Beach Lodge is accessible directly from the beach (you walk straight from the sand, up the steps to the restaurant/bar). Both of the latter are great locations, but not food to write home about, IMO.

If you want to venture as far as Rockport, Moon Dog Cafe is a casual but good spot that is on the water, as well.

Pier 99 and Fajitaville on North Beach are both right on the beach. Pier 99 has a fence around its outdoor patio so you can't walk to the beach but you can from Fajitaville.
