Ok I have to been Corpus Christi a few time and have loved the beach and fishing opportunities and local have been very nice. My family and are hopefully will be relocating there soon but I have been watching adsack and craigslist having a hard time finding a 3 br place to rent that allows pets for around $800. My wife is a nurse so she will get a job pretty fast. As for me I am really burned out and want to go back to school for something new. now with that in mind, will I have much of a problem getting a 8-10 hr job while in school maybe something at heb bestbuy homedepot?? Or is the economy like it is in Kansas City just mass unemployement and no one hiring at the moment.

I don't know much about the rental situation. You should not have any trouble finding part-time work like you described. Judging from traffic at the malls and shopping centers and peoples' grocery carts, CC does not seem to be suffering too much from the recession.

I am just curious.. why do you keep starting threads that are about the same thing? Trust me, you will get answers, but you don't have to keep repeating the same threads.

Another thing, please read through the many, MANY threads about Corpus. While they might not all pertain to the information you want, you will get a much better idea of what Corpus Christi, as well as much of south Texas is about.

When is CC going to get another Best Buy? It's ridiculous how crowded that place always is and how a city this size only has one location.

The Caller-Times CC's local paper should have some rentals.

I myself have always wondered and thought the same thing. We are one of the busiest stores in the nation. We have 1 bestbuy which serves 450,000 peope. On average a Best Buy will serve 97,000 I think the GM said.

Anyways, one was going to go up in Calallen, but I think they decided to hold off until either one of three things happen:

1. Wait until US 77 developes more in between Calallen and Robstown. ( Which I believe will happen anytime now...)

2. Until US 77 turns into I-69. Which is not a question of if... But when?

3. Or until the economy turns around.

Either way, I think it'l be sooner than later.

And yes we are always packed. On the weekends, when visitors come who have never been to our store on a weekend, thinks there is some huge special or something going on. Thats how packed it gets. I know our budgets run about $360,000 dollars on saturday's and around $300,000 dollars on sundays. Which is only a 9 hour day. Either way, we need a second Best Buy.

Gabe I sometimes get on your for your lack of facts/research. Why not show us what the sales are at the corpus store compared to their other ones - I'd be curious too.

At the end of this article there are 4 people who can tell you and their contact info

Best Buy Reports December Revenue of $7.5 Billion, Continues Market Share Gains | Best Buy Inc.

Its 6:27AM here and I don't think I'll miss court to find out -however if you're curious... They can also give you sales growth per store - seems like you're interested in this.
