Default So I got onto the Caller Times this morning...

The first 5 headlines on the Caller Times website this morning were:

Woman, 80 dies in car wreck
Stabbing by teen
Stabbing of teen
Stabbing at a bar
Pitbull shot by police officer

I thought to myself, "Typical CC".

Also, here is a very accurate description of this city that one poster left about this city. Funny, but sadly true.

Come to beautiful Corpus Christi:
Visit the Aquarium
Visit the Lexington
The Beach
Get Stabbed
Stab a stranger
Get a teen pregnet
Open a Taqueria
Visit the Trade Center
Go to the Sunrise Mall
Explore the Old Courthouse
Discover the Memorial Coliseum
Spray Paint someone's Personal Property
Dump unwanted old furniture and appliances out on a County Road
Start a Meth Lab
Drop out of school in the 9th grade
Wear gold teeth and be a hard-core gangsta rapper while living with you Grandma
Steal Christmas Decorations from peoples yards
Have a Pitbull and name him Scarface or Kane
Come for the Buc-day Parade, but come 2 weeks early, to fight for your spot

This has to be one of the funniest things I have ever read. But it's so true!

More like typical Texas...or USA for that matter. Society in general is getting more and more disgusting. It's not just Corpus Christi. Take a look at the papers in other cities. It's just as bad, if not worse. I was recently at a mall in the nice part of Dallas and it was scary to see what the average person looks and acts like now. Trust me. Corpus Christi is not the only place you find this stuff. I know we need improvements but it's a long shot to say, typical Corpus Christi without including the rest of the country.

But, it is sad that the headlines look like this at least once a week for a city the size of CC.

Here are a couple of more featured stories on the website from throughout the weekend:

Man kicks pregnant wife in stomach, then flees
Hit and run
Whataburger packs up offices
man sentenced to 7 years for child porn

Corpus Christi - The All American City - "Sparkling city by the sea".

I do agree with that. The city needs to invest more in in additional police officers and anti-crime programs. We need to send a clear message to criminals that CC won't take their crap anymore. We need to scare them off and reclaim out city so we can focus on bigger and better things.

We also need to replace our judges and stop giving these life long criminals a slap on the wrist for felonies that they commit.

Example:

6 months probation: Attempted murder.

Rediculous!

Which mall? It couldn't have been Northpark - that's onle mall where MOST (not all) people still carry themselves respectfully (tastefully dressed and generally friendly)

The Galleria and some mall near Grapevine. Not sure what the name of it was. Yeah, Northpark attracts a better crowd for sure.

Galleria attracts people from all over, and is surrounded by all sorts of neighborhoods. Grapevine Mills is in a nice area, but due to its set-up as an outlet center, also draws people from all over.

I live less than a mile from Northpark, and the only thing I don't like about it is the price to see a movie ($10). That's a ridiculous price.
