Default Free channels-question for those who don't have cable

Hello. I am trying to help my mom save money. When I asked her about which channels she watches, she mentions Fox, Univision, Telemundo and she has to be able to watch Dallas Cowboys. She doesn't believe me that there are free channels. I live in South Florida and we have so many free digital channels that cable is not necessary.

Anyway, I went to this website to look up digital channels and it doesn't seem that CC has too many free channels. Is this correct?

AntennaWeb

TIA

The Cowboys are an NFC team, so their games should be on the Fox station KUQI, channel 38. You're right that AntennaWeb doesn't show KUQI as one of the stations that can be received from zip code 78401. Maybe someone in Corpus can elaborate on whether they can receive this station with an antenna?

AntennaWeb seemed to show that reception of stations for the other networks was possible when I did a search.

My GF lives on Ohio St. which should be close to 78401 and she gets it. It's all up to your surroundings. Either her TV or her converter box should have an autoscan function. Try that first and see if it picks up. If she can, mount the antenna in the attic and run coax out of the ceiling. I was in Portland surrounded by other apartment buildings and I got it just fine also, when the wind wasn't blowing too hard. Best of luck!
