my wife and I are celebrating our ten year anniversary this year, Sept. we were thinking of trying coastal texas. We are from NY, asnd know nothing about texas, but know we love the beach. Sure we can go to the caribean, but would rather stay stateside. Other places we were t hinking of were Key West Fl. or somewhere on coastal carolina/georgia.
So does coastal texas have any fun towns, with great beaches?, and peace and quiet? House rentals, or hotels either would be good.

Corpus Christi is great, but if you want peace and quite, i would vote for Port Aransas and/or Rockport. you can stay at the Mayan Princess outside of Port Aransas, but there may other condos and beach rentals to choose from. if you do stay in Port A., they have great restaurants and beaches. i recommend visting the Beach Lodge. It a wonderful quaint place with great atmosphere and awesome view of the Gulf. I must warn you, it is not the most asthetically pleasing place, but you'll be warmly welcomed have a view of the water that is to die for.

damn, you just made me miss being home.. i hate you, j/k.

look into Corpus Christi also. Population of about 300k. Ocean Dr. and Shoreline Dr. give breathtaking views of the bay. I will recommend you visit Longhorn Steak & Ale for dinner. best steaks in town. Corpus has the Aquarium, USS Lexington, and beautiful parks along the bay. CC is a great mix of rest and relaxation, but yet has many things to do if you get bored.
