Default Portland, N. Padre or Flourbluff for young family??

Hello! My family and I are relocating to CC in August from Colorado and are trying to narrow down what area would be the best fit for us. We would really like to find an area that is safe and would be a good place to raise our young kids. We visited just a few weeks ago and I think I have narrowed down to either N. Padre, Flourbluff or Portland. From what I hear, Flourbluff and Portland both have a good education system. I am particularly interested in the Seashore Learning Center on N. Padre. Does anyone have any information about that? What would be the pros/cons of either location? Would you consider one area to be better than the rest as far as crime, community, atmosphere, schools? Also, I will be looking for a good gymnastics facility for my girls!! Any recommendations there?

Any information would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks so much!

Don't know a whole lot about Flour Bluff or N Padre for comparison, but I lived and worked in Portland for a while and it's a nice clean area with good schools. Crime rate is fairly low and the Police Dept is very community oriented. They really enforce city ordinances so you won't see broken down cars parked in the streets and stuff like that.. Hope that helps somewhat.

The Gregory-Portland ISD has lost ground and is not one of the best any more.

Flour Bluff is good but it has a fair amount of crime. Port Aransas and Rockport (Aransas County iSD) would probably be the best places for a young family. My kids loved growing up in Rockport and the schools spend the most on extra-curricular activities for the kids. Port A is similar.

Aggie,

So what did you decide. I'm in the same boat as you... But looking to move in October. How did N Padre turn out?

Thank You!

Aaron
