2012 Disney Cruise
So our family has decided to take our 2012 family vacation on a Disney Cruise around September/october time frame on their newest ship.
I have emailed several travel agents and are awaiting their reply but does anyone know if any other travel agency would offer a significantly better deal than Disney themselves (I live in TN).
We are a family of 4, 2 adults and kids ages 5 and 2 (at time of travel).
I heard only good things about Disney cruises; if anyone has any feedback as to what to do or what not to do or any general advice would be great, thanks in advance!

It would help if you said how long, which ship, and where you plan on sailing to.

I guess that would be helpful.
The one i'm interested in is a 7 night 8 day cruise to the west Caribbean on the Fantasy (one of the newer ships) between late sep to early oct of 2012. The disney site quotes about 3600 for us....just wondering how much of a better deal I can get elsewhere and if those travel sites are legitimate.

I'm actually curious about the Disney Cruise lines in general ... Particularly for a single adult cruiser who just happens to love Disney parks ...

I've cruised on DCL in the past, they have something for everyone. There is no casino, and the nightlife is limited, so if that's what you're looking for, there would be better choices. But for a family cruise it can't be beat.
They really are a niche product, upscale but not luxury.
Did you have any specific questions?

I did a search on Disney cruises and found this old thread. My family is considering taking the new 8 night Disney Cruise from New York/Castaway Cay/Bahamas/DisneyWorld. Compared to the 4 night on the newer Disney Dream, this looks like a reasonable price, but we were planning on going in June which will be only the 2nd month this cruise has been running. I don't know if there will be a lot of issues due to that? This will also be our first cruise.
Any cruising tips would be appreciated and again, if better through an agent, please let me know.

I am an avid cruiser and have been on many different cruise lines, but have never cruised on Disney. However, an excellent site to visit to seek guidance and answers to any questions you may have is Cruise Critic.
Cruise Reviews, Cruise Deals and Cruises - Cruise Critic
In addition to general info on cruising, they also have a discussion forum like this one, but geared to cruising. They even have separate boards for each cruise line. Here is a direct link to the Disney discussion forum:
