I joined some UK cruise forum, too. I think it was there where they said that some cruise company dropped their proposed 2013 wold cruise because of rough economic times. It was either there, or on one of the regular emails sent to me by vacations to go, which gives a nice listing of various cruises and prices.

I don't know anything about comparative pricing or where the best deals can be had, though. I think I would just go to a travel agent and pay a premium for them to have the knowledge and make arrangements. It seems that it is like airline flights, where each passenger may have paid a different price.

On cruises, some people say that if you book really early you get the best prices, and others wait for last minute discounts.

I'm taking a new look at those European river cruises. Haven't heard of too much loss of life from them. After all, if you get drunk and fall overboard the canals are usually pretty shallow.

Yes, and again, it is great that you can visit a different place each day. I just got a catalog from Viking today. I would imagine that the competition is rough because they are all pretty much visiting the same ports along the way.
