Just one more question for you guys. You all have been great help already. Well,we are going. The problem is September is the best month for us schedule wise- this is also hurricane/rainy season in the Bahamas.Would it be best to work it out for another month. If we do stick with Sept. Will trip be ruined by inclement weather? Would the trip suck if it rains the whole time- or is there so much to do aboard the ship that it won't matter. I realize rain is a possiblity any time of year- so what would you do?

On the upside, the water is really warm this time of the year. When we were on the cruise the water was like ICE.

The ship has a very sophisticated navigation system (we got to tour it), they can avoid whatever they need to, plus the ship has stabilizers, you will feel the ship rocking but nothing like you used to. When we were on the ship we learned that it had been right throught the middle of a hurricane and did just fine from a member of the crew that had been on the ship at the time. He said that the roughness of the ship during that time was a 10 but what we went through was like an 8.

There is so much to do on board ship, I felt like I didn't want to sleep for fear of missing something.

Hurricane season is in full swing in the Caribbean in September. Certainly, the ship can steer clear to avoid bad weather when you're at sea. I went on a Sept. cruise and it was wonderful. Water was warm and we had a great time. One year later (Hurricane Season of 2004), and I was staying in a hotel in Miami (due to hurricane damage at my house) and we saw 3 ships sitting in port, unable to go anywhere. If you are doing the cruise to experience cruising, then there are plenty of shipboard activities. However, if you're doing the cruise to see the destinations, be forewarned that the itinerary can change due to weather. I'd still do another Sept. cruise, especially if that was the best time for me to go. I just love cruising.

Yea, I remember during 2004 the ships were sent in a different direction and actually kept at sea longer. They also had to bring The Disney ships into the Port of the Everglades rather then Cape Canaviral, the supplied busing between the two places.
