Has anyone been to San Juan since it was mauled by the hurricanes? Is it functional? We enjoyed Old San Juan very much when we were there 26 years ago. `

We are considering a cruise that will make a one day stop there and then go on to St Thomas.

Yes, very much so. The cruise ships are going out of there, the tours are running full speed ahead, but I a guessing the outlining areas are still suffering. Old San Juan apparently is just fine.

There is a cruise review from the April timeframe on Cruise Critic that has a cruise out of San Juan with 2-3 day stay that includes pitcures. Mitsugirly is the OP. Take a look to see what it looks like today.

San Juan is still a great place to go. I would even recommend doing a cruise that starts there. This way you could come in early or stay a bit longer and enjoy it. Of course, we are approaching hurricane season's peak (September/October) so things could change.

Remember you are talking 4 plus months ago. Every day things seem to be changing.

you are right about the season but I really think of the season peaking in mid Sept, with last August and early Oct being a little more calm. We all know the season officially goes until Nov 30th. It appears this year is going to be a pretty mild one
