Hi!
I'm Italian and I can tell you that the best period to vist it for example..Italy, is May, June, September or December (if you like Christmas atmosphere)

July and August are bad period because all Italian are on holiday and the weather is warm ( They are a period much expensive)

If you have need to receive other information, please contact me by pm.

I would recommend Mai, august or september for crowd reason, however dont except that you can go to Venice, rome of other for some reason very popular places whitout finding them crowded, dosent really matter when you visit these places, they are crowded anyway.

However, if you insist on visiting europe in one of the european school holiday months, why not see some other parts of europe instead of the same place that every american go? England, Scandinavia, Germany. Northern france perhabs? i would have thought that was very interresting for a american. Or even some of the eastern european countries, some of them have started to improve into real holiday countries.

And btw, if you are young people and like to have a good party, forget about Ibiza, Loret de mar. Sunny beach bulgaria is the place to go, you get a pint for about 50 cent, and a bottle of vodka for 3-4 dollars. and still there is plenty of new cheap 5 stars hotels.

I am green with envy! You will have a wonderful trip. I've been to all these places and would go again and again.
