The popularity of cruising from New York continues to grow each year, but what may come as a shock to people is that some of the best cruise deals are coming out of Brooklyn.

Plus, before or after their voyage, cruisers have the opportunity to check out “that other borough” that many have been proclaiming is the new Manhattan.

If I go cruise, I would like to compare the prices from different websites (http://click.linksynergy.com/fs-bin/click?id=r5S5DswK2yQ&offerid=100094.10000001&type= 3&subid=0 - broken link) before I choose one deal.

I hate the way cruise lines advertise their pricing. They post a price that sounds like a GREAT deal, less than $100.00 a day. What they don't mention is that port fees, taxes, fuel surcharges, etc. can sometimes double that cost. You never know for sure till you get to the bottom line! I think cruise lines should be required to advertise the ACTUAL cost for the entire trip, as of the date of the offer, except for optional add-ons except excursions.

They need to mention the tips ... that nearly killed me not expecting $15 per day per person or whatever it was!

the tips are really the only thing that the cruise line doesn't mention

the other "great discounts" are often from TAs who are looking to get you attention - if you book on the cruise line webpage they usually show the price with port fees, taxes, etc

you'll also find many TAs show the fees, etc

when we booked ours it the deal that hooked us had all the fees except onboard expenses included in the advertised price and that was through a TA as well

I shop around the internet to get pricing and find "deals". Then I call my trusty, cruise line "Personal vacation Planner" and book directly with them. All fees included, only the $10 pp per day for tips is extra. Oh yeah, I pay for trip insurance on its own as I buy mine from a third party company.

There's no need for a travel agent when you have all the tools you need at your fingertips!
