Hi everyone.

I might be going to Alaska!!!!

Who has done a cruisetour? Who has done a cruise and a separate land tour on their own?

What cruiselines and itineraries would you recommend? Northbound cruise, Southbound cruise? Vancouver, Seattle?

How do you embark in one town and disembark in another and catch your flights back home? (I'm on the other side of the world - Florida).

What cities, sights, are A MUST? I would have two weeks total for everything.

Thanks for all ideas, opinions, advice, etc. etc.

Here is a link to a review my wife wrote on igougo. We had a great time and definitely recommend all the activities she reviewed. The only thing we didn't do that I wish we had was to fly up onto the glacier.

my mother went on a seattle to alaska cruise a couple years ago and flew from ny to sea.
great pics and scenery but for a shopoholic like her, she was disappointed there was nothing much to shop for up there except for genuine hand-crafted eskimo sweaters and carvings that were probably made in china.

That would work out just fine with me. Not interested in getting too many gadgets and there's nothing else I would really need that I would want to lug around in planes and airports, etc. I would prefer to spend my money on sightseeing and tours.
