They had $315K in January and they are down to $5K! On the top of that attorneys haven't been paid even a cent!! Can this be true?

do you have any clue how much legal fees are? Yes, I saw the article as well. The attorneys are talking about how much more he will need to finance, his defense, that doesn't count how much has been spent so far. Maybe I am misunderstanding this. If so, the lawyers are working for very little money compared to normal costs. I know what we are paying for an attorney in Ca right now to handle a simple estate. And that isn't a criminal case involving more than one lawyer, researchers, etc. I think you are overlooking how much has been paid out, whether the lawyers have received any money or not. This is like having a home built, the contractor maybe doesn't get a penny til the job is complete, but you are still putting out money for supplies.

I don't have much but I donated a somewhat small amount to his legal bills. This is case is very emotional, evidence has been withheld by the prosecution (the former prosecutor (?) has testified to such), it became a witch hunt. Zimmerman should not have been out there with a gun but, I believe Trayvon was a young punk who circled back around, attacking Zimmerman and Trayvon got shot for his efforts. Trayvon's family tried to make him out an innocent saint and it isn't true. Did he deserve to die ? Not at all but, there are so many lies and misinformation about this case, Zimmerman deserves to have a fair trial and, unfortunately, that costs money.

No I don't have clue about legal fees and that's why I asked.

I am not talking about how much he needs for fair defense as his lawyer puts it - I am talking about spending of $310K in last 4 months that too without any fees to attorneys which I'd tend to believe should be one of the most expensive items.
