Why not take your nonsense elsewhere. This is a tragedy surely there are more threads to spill your bile other than this one.

I read that he said he thought he was on another track. Maybe he confused Santiago with another station with a wider curve, that looks similar, though. Poor guy, unlike with the Italian cruiser guy I feel sorry for him.

Even if he was on another track with a wider curve, wouldn't he still be going WAY too fast?

It is reported that even if the driver wants to make that in purpose, the security systems wouldn't have let him go to this speed, so I bet it was too many mistakes at the same time together.

Yes this could have been avoided, but the comment about Spanish workers and "In Finland this cannot happen" is nonsense, it can happen and you know it, this and many other problems.

The security system feature you are alluding to is installed in the AVE - High Speed Trains - in Spain, not on Fast Trains. Such is the fact in most train systems in the world.

Train Engineers in Spain are fully qualified, they don't drink either.
Automated systems on curves are only used on AVE (High Speed Systems) in the entire world, not in Finland since Finland does not have High Speed Systems....and a large part of their rolling stock is manufactured in Spain.

What the ****? That train hit the wall almost 200km/h. trains move that fast in Finland (and people are still alive). That safety system is on every track... I use car and aeroplanes so don't know everything about this subject.

This thread is not about mobile phones or the technology advancements of Finland. Majurius, don't you have any decency?

What a jerk this Majurius guy.

And our railways are in a terrible condition and practically a ticking time bomb. The fact that max speeds have been lowered to 140 kph or even 120 kph at some stretches tells it all. Safety systems are great and should be implemented everywhere, but it's only a matter of time when something, albeit probably a less severe accident will happen here. If the trains get on their way at all when it's -2C...

I repeat, what an arrogant jerk.
