It was all very evident this week during the floods in Colorado. I had to again spend the day watching the Weather Channel to see what was going on live. Geez, Fox use to go to places to show you what was what.
The same with the fires out West. I just could not find the news on it. Just bits and pieces.
Its not just being nosey at all, we have future plans to head that way. In the spring we will be in Colorado and out west.
Good gosh, I can not stand the round tables on the news and they are everywhere. Everyone talks over each other. Its all the same story and a lot of repeating over and over.
There is nothing like "live" on the spot news. News about our country and how things are going here.
I have to applaud the Weather Channel last night with its helicopter filming of the damage to Colorado and the
explanation of why and how it happened. Estes Park was surrounded by flooding with no way in.
Looks like the only channel to head to right now is our Weather Channel. Yes, and I am glad we have that!
Shepard Smith is suppose to return with a new show and updated program. He says he will be able to go anywhere a story is, right on the spot.
Now, when.....is my question. We need good reporting. On the spot breaking news. No round table stuff, everyone talking at once. All those opinions at the same time.
I can't hardly wait. Hurry up Shep, come back soon.

I just found out about this new show yesterday when I asked my brother where Shepard was. He reminded me of his surgery and mentioned this new show when Shep returns.
Since this hour of news with Shepard Smith is all I have been watching these last few months, I miss the man when he is not there.
I hope he heals quickly and comes back with an interesting news show.
I find it difficult to just find news now. I don't want any talking head shows.
I think public radio is one of the best places to get the news today. That or I'll just find out what I want to know online. News shows today are terrible now because they're not really doing any journalism or sharing any facts, they're just doing commentary.
Most people I know consider the national mainstream media news to be a joke, fluff upon fluff with some business and political theatre thrown in for that serious look. Glam reporters popping up on the screen, yukking it up with fellow newsies and jive talking the weatherman.
As we slide into a state of social oblivion you can blame these types who see the news as an opportunity to do a little self promoting while seeming to have some connection to a scholarly view of the days events. Jeez, just the hair stylists wages could be staggering in such places, Ron Burgundy's antics couldn't hold a candle to the CNN crew.
Ben Franklin stated the need for an informed people in order for the republic to survive, survive? Against who or what? Even back in Ben's day folks knew the forces of ignorance could be the worst enemy possible. Today the likes of CNN, FOX, CBS, NBC, and others are promoting that ignorance, what that means is simple, news aint news today and because it lacks that truth it's a form of propaganda.
I only watch CNN on election nights. They have better graphics than the other cable news networks and I can actually read the election results at the bottom of the screen something I can't do with the other cable networks.
