Al Jazeera is a media outlet that is respected by folks who know the news and follow it. Just because it has an Arabic name does not mean it is pro-Arabs. It's not. It is objective. I've always found it to be a reliable source for news of the world.
It's from Qatar, it can't be objective. Qatar is a big player in the middle east now, and throwing a lot of money around.

Yes, I think it's reasonable to expect that it will reflect the official position of the Qatari government -- the way RT serves as a mouthpiece for the Kremlin, Xinhua for the CCP, and so on.
I've no idea how AJ will cover 9/11, that said as awful and sad as 9/11 was and we must never forget it's going to be 12 years, it's time to move on a bit and let the families heal which is kind of hard to do when every year we make a huge to do down in lower NYC opening up all the heartache and sorrow again...
What exactly do you the o/p want from AJ as far as 9/11 memorial coverage??
As a native New Yorker (from Long Island even though it was 12 years ago. It was the worst day that I've ever been through in my life. I was a freshman in college at school about 90 minutes from NYC. I spent the entire day staring at the TV wondering if my family and friends that work and lived were ok. Heck, I worried if I was going to be ok, living so close to NYC. I've noticed that since I've moved away the coverage is less. I will never forget it but opening the wounds and seeing all of the coverage every year is very difficult.
I remember feeling upset my first 9/11 down here. I feel like everyone forgot or didn't care or that it wasn't a big deal. The reading of the names wasn't even on tv.
I find the question about how Al Jazeera will handle it to be a bit silly. They are actually a very balanced news outlet. You can get more facts fair and balanced facts on their probably than on any other American based news outlet. Do you expect them to throw a parade and to start twerking in celebration like Miley Cyrus on the VMAS?
Seriously. Just because they are Arab based it doesn't make them crazy fundamentalists. That's like saying every Mormon person worships the ground that Warren Jeffs walks on.

Actually I was kind of surprised by this response, especially by someone who lives pretty close to GZ. While I don't think what your saying is wrong, from what I know from a couple of those families (as I live in the NY metropolitan area too), they DON'T want the huge to-dos to disappear; if anything, they're afraid if they do, 9/11 will be "forgotten" faster and disappear from people's memories.
If anything I hear what you are saying more from people NOT directly affected by 9/11, things like, "it's 12 years, haven't they had enough already?", "do we need to keep being reminded of this, let's move on", etc.
In that sense, I think going through the decades, it will play out in terms of public consciousness pretty much the same way Pearl Harbor played out.......
