The concerned parent should have talked to his son's coach before lodging the complaint. The coach could have explained why he didn't have a problem with how it was handled. Once the complaint was made, it had to be investigated by state law, which wasted time and money.
It was normal practice in my HS football days to run up the score if opportunity was available against weaker teams. In fact, Homecoming game was usually scheduled against a weak team so they could be walloped. Same happened to our time when we played a much stronger team for their Homecoming game. Result? 51-0.
Why can't people just accept losing? The other team did not play well, deal with it. 32 plays with 91 points? What were they suppose to do, run around in circles every down, for ten seconds waiting for someone to make a tackle?
Assuming that there is a PAT after a touchdown, and that there were no field goals or safeties , that means it took 26 plays (13 TDs and PATs) to score 91 points. Points were not scored on only 6 plays. Ouch.
Oh man. It'd be bad enough to be one of the players on the losing team come Monday at school when everyone gives you crap for losing that bad. But the flack they'll catch for having their mommies and daddies cry "bully" on their behalf? Congrats, parents. You just made it worse.

Exactly! The rampant egalitarianism and over-sensitization of the American educational system is seeking to produce a generation of Momma's boys .... but not everybody's buying into the New Puritanism. As we all should have learned on 9/11/01, a substantial portion of the world beyond the borders of the Western democracies can't be counted upon to "play fair".
........My only criticism of the coach is his not knowing the league rule that the game could have ended early if both coaches agreed to it ... something that probably should have happened by halftime.
better yet - the Head Referee could have suggested it since he (1) should know about the rule, and (2) has no stake in the outcome...
