I didn't know the sun was owned by anyone...maybe it's harder for the utility companies to be "freegougers", and they just don't like it.
Pathetic to say the least.
I don't know what effect so any panel might have has they increase especially in crowded areas.. I know I do not like the effect that urban concentrating of concrete lots and glass building that reflect at times and then block sunlight at times. Thus I avoid living in such areas.
ALEC is an extremist corporate bilge outlet funded by Exxon-Mobil and the usual gang of America-killer wannabes -- the Kochs, the Scaifes, the Coors, and so on. Does anyone seriously think they will be in favor of individually-installed solar panels???
Infuriating story. Some of the lines spouted by the proponents of the legislation in that story are ridiculous! And why am I not surprised Cruz is involved?
Alternatively, if you don't have solar panels, you're a selfish careless prick.
Indeed.
Electricity is so cheap here going solar would be a waste of money.
Also amusing is the toxic witches brew of chemicals that goes into making the panels which is discharged into the air and water, just so some liberal can feel smug about his soon to be leaky roof.

Same here, but we have the additional problem of not enough sun to use solar except July and August.
The natural gas for heating runs our bill up to $300 this time of year. A better solution is geo-thermal, but the payback is still close to 20 years so you'd have to stay in the same house a long time.
