The issue is?

Oh yes, spending money while they cut retirement to the US military, among other BS cuts.

Add to this the billions wasted on facilities built but never used, tanks built but not wanted, Italian aircraft purchased and going straight to the scrap yard, incinerators that do not work, MRAP's left abandoned due to having too many, etc.

The military wastes money left and right, yet they will cry and scream if even one dime gets cut from them.

Sounds typical of government spending in general. One only has to look at party(not political parties either) waste at agency lately to see that. I have to say tho greeks waste reported lately take the cake over us. Workers hired to completely drain a lake over 20 years ago; long since finished. No one can account for what they have been doing for over a decade but still on payrolls. Public owned radio station that is least listen to ; yet has more staff than all others combined in the country.

Payoff, kickbacks, lobbyists all seem to attach themselves to those working in government positions who make decisions on expenditures. In this case the individual has gracefully retired and left his position at the Pentagon. However the damage was done and he’s gone or on the way out the door. My guess is that a large sum of money was deposited in a bank account with his name on it somewhere in the world for his continued personal gain.

When do people of authority actually go to jail for their misuse of government money or material? No one seems to be held accountable any longer!

Issue is why is our military spending our tax dollars on foreign made helicopters instead of being required to pump that money back into our domestic economy by buying American made helicopters?

It's because Russian helicopters are better, of course! The Afghans just want the best tool for the job.
