Sounds like the kind of EMTS WE CAN DO WITHOUT...
Not knowing DC laws...
As a registered Nurse, if I am aware of a situation, I must act up to my highest skill/training. Anywhere.
The firefighters did not walk over 'because if they are unaware they do not have to do anything'.
Sad. Even CPR via bystanders/family at the store could have saved his life.
Don't Wal Marts have AED?
Again-how many people 'don't want to get involved'? Today's attitude....sorry, mister

And sadly, I think that "don't want to get involved" attitude comes mostly from fear of lawsuits. If people weren't so quick to sue someone, always wanting to make things someone else's fault, and a way to earn some quick cash, I think more people would get involved.
