Technically speaking, the "death camps" had facilities and production-line systems for mass murder, and that was their primary function. Of course there were huge death numbers from every cause at other camps but the function of Auschwitz, Sobibor, Treblinka, Maijandek and Belzec was direct murder, pure and simple.
It's a semantic technicality. People died in tens of thousands in work camps, concentration camps, you name it, from murder, illness, starvation, overwork.
I couldn't be further from a Holocaust denier, to put it mildly. But the semantics are what they are.

What do people get out of denying the holocaust? Sincere question here.
Why do people feel the need to spin an event like the Holocaust? I lost family members in the Holocaust and know the version taught in Western schools is flawed, to fit an agenda.
If the Holocaust is to be referenced so often, it needs to be accurate.

It is amazing to think that she would have not been bitter or full of hatred (for the Nazis). Her musical talent seemed to have helped enrich her life despite everything she went through. May she rest in peace.
People who live to 100 or more have several things in common. They are optimistic in nature, take things as they come without worrying too much about the future, and at the same time are always looking more ahead than living in the past.
Another interesting thing to me is this group isn't afflicted with dementia or Alzheimer's disease very much at all. Their bodies may be breaking down from advanced age, but their minds and memories remain pretty sharp and clear. They seldom spend much time in depression and prefer to think happy thoughts and remember the good times much more than the bad.

What do people get out of bringing something back again and again? It happened. A Fact! A very advertised fact!
You can go into genocide from 2013 to as far back as you want to. Some cultures were/are better at keeping memories alive and sometimes milking them.

I am still waiting for a memorial to American Indians to be finished. Trail of Tears was only one planned and executed extermination.
