Even in less deep waters sometimes one never minds the debris of a crashed airplane. See: Historian: Plane mystery MUST be solved - CNN.com Video

After turning off the signals, the pilot said goodnight and the plane turned around to head in another direction. Why are people still talking about a crash? Or pilot suicide?

The choice of north or south sounds like a no brainer too. If it was planned to turn around, they must have had another plan to land and hide it, not to crash it in the Indian Ocean.
With all the choices up north and with the knowledge to fly under radar, it seems this is something that could have been in the makings for years and we will one day see the other shoe drop.
Some say they would have to have a hangar but if they have been working on this plan for years, why couldn't they have built cover ahead of time. We are talking about an area where the 9/11 plan was hatched.
Just seems the people there lay back and take their time to work on their revenge.

If the plane had crashed, wouldn't it have crashed in route to its destination?

I think the only "motive" was to seize the plane.

I still can't believe it's taken over a week (during which time the pilot's relatives have been going in and out of his residence, carrying bags) for authorities to "look at" the crew. Give me a break.

You can't say they "would have". I posted stats earlier that terrorists only claim responsibility 14% of the time. And especially if they stole this plane as phase 1 of a much larger plan.

If one goes into another room and turns off the light in that room, how does anyone outside the home know if the light was turned off or the bulb burned out or there was a problem with the electrical system in the house?

All this talk about the pilot deliberately turning things off, as if that was the only way something like that could happen.

Guesswork.

Ah, usually it is apparent when a terrorist does something, not a whole lot to guess about. Cars blowing up and so on.

Guesswork.
But if two lights are on and the first light goes off in one room then the second goes off in another room ten minutes apart, we can say the odds are greatly enhanced that someone turned them off.

Irresponsible speculation on the part of Israel, imo. OTOH, at this point, anything's possible.
