It isn't about guns. It never fails though, some anti-gun believer has to taint any hope of a discussion about the topic. Next, a retort to your post will probably show up, this time from a pro-2nd amendment faction.

This was in Canada, not the USA. 2nd time in less than 30 days.

Using your logic, there would have been fewer victims if someone had a gun to prevent the attacks.

Nonetheless, this is another sad and senseless event.

Yeah, sounds about right. Sometimes the pro-gun people start it by saying "we should ban all assault knives."

The point that "more people would have died if guns were used" is actually fairly insulting to me. If one person died, that is one person too many, in my view. Don't invalidate their lives by saying "AT LEAST only a few people died instead of many."

The first one (well, first within last 30 days) was an employee going into the workplace and stabbing 5 (not sure exactly) people. Now this one.

Violence in some form has been a part of every society since day one but we're staring to see more of the mass injuries or killings. In the US there was the "going postal" thing but I haven't heard of that lately, now we have young kids doing it.

Maybe it is a sign of the times?

No, if the criminals thought they might encounter a homeowner armed with a gun, they'd think twice about it. Same thing happened to George Harrison years ago when he was stabbed by an intruder. His wife had to resort to clocking the guy with a household object.

Thankfully, that won't ever happen in our house.
