Man urinates in reservoir, ruins 38M gallons of water

I saw this and couldn't help but wonder if animals aren't doing the same thing. Bird's don't poop when they fly over water? Animals don't die near water or down in it? I bet they do. Bottled water companies suck up water from the same streams people upstream are urinating in and worse. Upstream dead animals end up in them as well.

They dumped all 38 million gallons. They don't filter/clean this water before sending it to homes?

Could they have tested this person to determine if he had something in his system that was of such a threat before dumping all that water?

And, apparently, since it's not the first time it's happened, it's the fun thing to do in Portland!

I remember 20 or 30 years ago a group of around men and women were caught skinny dipping in the water inside a water tower. I can understand dumping this and gettime more since it was already cleaned. Besides a little jail time the swimmers had to pay the cost of letting all the water our and having to clean inside the tower

We're talking a few ounces of urine in 38 million gallons of water. Even though the water had been treated already, there are probably more parts per million of other icky things in that reservoir.

Sounds like it could be a Chicago Cubs fan, they have the tendency to urinate where ever they are.

I always used to wonder about this when they'd show the opening theme song for Petticoat Junction. Remember that show? It opened with (among other things) a shot of the three daughters bathing in the town's water tower (with their clothes coyly draped over the edge). Ewww!

That was the water tower for the locomotive, not drinking water, that came from the well.

I'd bet that there are plenty of guys who'd have been willing to drink the water that Jeannine Riley swam in.
