16-year-old survives in wheel well of Maui flight

This is really shocking and surprising to me. Most of these stories turn up news of the deceased remains being discovered. Really crazy and amazing to me.

I read this this morning. The security breach here is scary. Glad to hear the kid is okay.

Oh great, now airlines will be looking for ways to fit pax into unpressurized areas!

I bet his Tripadvisor review will be quite a read.

I recall hearing about a stowaway doing the same thing many years ago and think there was even an image of him hanging on to or falling away as the plane made it's final approach. Little did I know is that apparently this sort of thing is relatively common.

Glad that the young man is okay. However, this is a sad reflecting on airport security.

A number of aviation experts aren't buying the story; neither am I.

I agree - this sounds unbelievable. The kid was supposedly coming from California and was able to survive hours at temperatures that went to 80 below???? Wearing just regular teenager clothes?

I'm a skeptic.

Watched this on NBC News tonight. I think it said security cameras showed him climbing the fence. Nobody was blaming airport. Everything was in place the way it was supposed to be security wise.

But, personally, only thing I'm wondering is how bad he had to change his Fruit of the Looms when he landed? lol
