Human Rights Campaign has a total of 57,000 members and supporters in the states, which have a total population of 10.7 million people.
I guess that blows a hole through the "gays are 10% of the population" b.s.

Title VII doesn't specifically mention gender identity or sexual orientation, so what exactly is covered by "sex" is open to interpretation.

Mia Mary's case looks like it was handled under Title VII on the basis of sex discrimination, not on gender identity, which is also not mentioned in Title VII.

This is a struggle for me because I'm looking at the possibility of moving out of California post-graduation, but lacking nationwide protection, I have to look at things on a state-by-state basis to decide where I, as a trans person, feel comfortable living and working.

And believe me, it sucks.

It's not a requirement of homosexuality to be a member of any group, nor are HRC members required to be qu**r.
