what about racism against someone who's holding a knife against your neck, and is demanding you say something racist against him, or he'll kill you?

So can you quote the disgusting parts of what Sterling said?

Several people have asked this question over and over, but no one answers. It seems like Sterling is being held up as a rich/white punching bag for people to spew anti-racism talking points toward....despite him saying little/nothing that was racist.

Like someone else said - this is a witch hunt. It's a way to create controversy (ratings) and a way for people to get on a soapbox. Out of all the bad things happening in the black community - we choose to focus on an old dude not wanting his GF to post pics with black dudes. LOL. Priorities.

The Sterling issue isn't about racist comments made in the workplace. It was a private conversation.

Hypothetical situations!

If he hates minorities (especially Blacks, which is odd as his girlfriend is part Black) he probably should have kept those thoughts to himself. If he had, he'd possibly get to witness his team win in the playoffs this year. Now, he probably can't even go down to their arena anymore.
Doubtful. Nobody much cares. It's fashionable to act like it matters. Jumping on the "care" bandwagon. Even the babbling media doesn't care, but they're running short on news so they grab their big stir stick.

I couldn't possibly care less.

No. I'm at work and really don't have the time to cut and paste. You're fully aware of what I'm talking about. How can you read and/or hear what Sterling said and not be disgusted? You're on a soapbox of your own, as evidenced by your constant stream of posts. I have not one iota of sympathy for the dumb old man, especially given his history.

Ok. It seems that you are speaking from a somewhat emotional standpoint instead of listening and analyzing what was actually said.

I'm speaking from both, actually. Also consider this: if the man didn't have a history, then perhaps things would be viewed differently. The entire conversation was disgusting, especially the "I give them food" comment. Those guys earned their food and cars. Chris Paul puts butts in the seats. He and Blake Griffin are probably the two most compelling reasons why the sucky, woe-be-gone clippers are even relevant. From a business standpoint, nevermind race, it's astonishing that he would bite the hands that actually feed him. The Clippers don't do anything for Chris Paul or Blake Griffin. They can walk and the Clippers will return to being the bottom feeders of the Western conference.

The more I think about it, the more ridiculous his words sound. Senility and Viagra are a bad mix.

You mention his history and bring up Chris Paul and Blake Griffin. If the man's history was known, why did they sign hefty contracts and take Sterling's money? I assume Sterling offered to pay them more than any other owner? So while they wouldn't be broke not playing for the Clippers, they can certainly buy more of whatever they need by taking Sterling's money.

Sterling is a complete moron. He damaged himself and the team. Team sponsors have already bailed today (State Farm Insurance, Car Max and more on the way). Players will not want to sign/resign for the Clippers and many fans will boycott the team as long as he's the owner. I'm sure some of his big shot Beverly Hills buddies will not want to be seen with him. He's ruined. I wonder if the Democratic party will still accept his donations???

-Cheers.
