Jay Z may be known for his exceptional fashion sense, among his many talents, but his latest sartorial flourish sparked suspicion he may be racist.

On Tuesday during a Brooklyn Nets game, the 44-year-old rapper wore a medallion with a symbol on it that is associated with the Five Percent Nation, an offshoot of the Nation of Islam that believes that “white men are the devil.”
When asked if the coaster-sized medallion featuring the group’s symbol, an eight pointed star with the number 7 inside of it, meant anything to him, Jay Z told The New York Post and reporters at the Barclays Center, “A little bit.”

Sorry but that's okay for that dude to show his racism no matter how sneakily he tries to do it, he's black. Only white people can't be racist, don't you know by yet???

Of course, it's whitey who makes most of the blacks their money and President, why would J-Z blatantly tell us what HE really thinks?? Oh wait, he'd have to caught like that owner was.

What JZ is promoting is Racism so why is it tolerated??

Imagine if a rich white guy went to a NBA game wearing a medallion featuring a swastika?? He would probably be beat up, escorted from the building and then destroyed by the media.

This country is a mess over racism and is taking a huge step backwards when we should all be pulling together for the good of the country. There are more important issues to worry about.

Yes it's racist.

Are you going to find all of the racist black people in the world? There are racist people in all races. I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish here.

He is obvioulsy just trying to make a statement. Whether he is racist or not who knows.
I agree there is a double standard here which I dont like. Maybe the entertainment industry should ban him?

Exactly. They think this revelation some how excuses some white guy from being racist. Don't expect every black person to apologize to you or feel sorry for you because you discovered a black or any other race being racist.

want to punish Jay Z? Get all the white kids to stop buying his music or products. Get all the white owners of record companies and manufacturers to stop putting out his music and his products. You want to point the finger at blacks for being Hypocrites for "allowing" Jay Z to exist make sure you blame your own race too.

Exactly! That is what this is all about. Subconsciously the OP knows that Sterling is a racist, and he doesn't want to admit that so rather than admitting it, he is attempting to deflect the attention off of Sterling and onto black celebrities who he feels have exhibited racist views. Like you said, it still doesn't justify the individual that he has spent so much time trying to defend. I am sure that there are black celebrities who are racist, but pulling up stories like this, which has actually been reported over a month ago, reeks of a desperate man.

Jay Z was an owner of the Nets just a few months ago and he has a company that represents pro athletes.

For the record, I care nothing about Sterling. I believe Jay Z influences more people than Sterling and it's interesting to see how the media treats similar issues that don't involve a white person.
