I'm really getting tired of crying celebrities and their fake forced apologies -- sure they're apologizing but only because of pressure to do so. I respect Barkley for refusing to apologize.

There's an Obesity Action Coalition?

Are the members for or against obesity?

How active are they?

Isn't Charles Barkley pretty faty himself?

Charles Barkley?

If it weren't for sports and it weren't for civil "rights", Charles Barkley wouldn't be qualified to judge where to put the garbage after he sweeps it up.

Good. I'm sick of the fake, contrived, PC apologies.

I have no idea who Chas Barkley is, but I give him credit for not issuing the obligatory apology after a "demand" has been made by The Perpetually Offended.

The last one who also refused to apologize was Joan Rivers who, last week, made a joke (she's a comedian, folks) that offended some.

Apologies should be sincere, not perfunctory, and saved for those in one's personal life--family, friends, and acquaintances that one has hurt--and not offered because someone or some group has demanded it.

But why should a fat person have to change who they are just so people like Barkley wont bully them? I'm appalled at the insensitive comments displayed by posters in this thread. What next, are you going to say ugly people should get plastic surgery so bullies will stop making fun of them.

You make it obvious that we have a long way to go before discrimination is eradicated in this country.
And you're at the vanguard of the contemporary civil rights movement.

Nobody said Sterling ran his team like a slumlord..........They simply pointed out that he was a slumlord.

Reading is fundamental.

He most definitely did maintain conditioning as a player. In fact, he dropped significant poundage from his rookie year so he could increase his level of conditioning. It was only after retirement that Barkley reverted to his original overweight physique.
