Well, apparently this is a policy debate, which has fast speaking as part of its style. Doesn't explain the poetry, off-topicness, or rudeness, though.
If you see this video from 2010, you will see different students engaging in similar behavior. Go to about 7:33 to see some of it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ya6g36Co5ck)
(Argh. How do I just post a link to a video, like I would a link to an article? It keeps adding a picture preview to the post as well as extra code.)
It is, and the speaking fast and using jargon no one outside the particular "sport" would understand was common in my high school days, as it is now. But at least in my day, we actually stayed topical, and there were penalties for going off topic.
A fair point --but nobody here will be around to see if Tupac and Biggie are remembered a few centuries down the road.
Quite true, and the point wasn't that Tupac or Biggie rise to the richly deserved stature of the Bard.
But rather to point out I that without having been told throughout educational lives that William Shakespeare is the greatest writer in the history of the English language, most audiences would walk out mid sonnet complaining about the crazy guy speaking gibberish.

Do you believe there's a chance we heard a little Shakespearean-esque dialog in the debate? I will try to listen again if you do.
The more I think about it --- white Europeans should've just kept on sailing past Africa 400 years ago and headed straight to Mexico to find their slave labor.
We are reaping what we sowed.
Or better yet, the lazy and evil devils should have used their own people.
Isn't that the basis for black culture these days?
After all, Kanye West seems to think he's a "genius" and yet most of his music sounds like nonsensical gibberish (even to black listeners).
Kanye West is a single person. He does not even represent a movement, let alone an entire culture. And it's your loss if you think so.
Do you assume everyone with a huge ego is all they say they are? Does Donald Trump represent white culture?
