On CBS they reported that one of trapped miners was as young as 15. How tragic!

This line from the article says it all for most countries outside the US & Canada.

I can't believe somebody is better at something than us. Safety laws are a joke and impede Wall Street profits, so we should abolish OSHA, so we can increase our fatality rates.

Of course this is sarcasm, but next time you here someone bash OSHA you'll know they actually do some good. I may not have always like safety in my construction career, but it was for my benefit.

too many times mine inspectors are paid to look the other way instead of having the safety problems corrected.
