Five dead people in Las Vegas.

Each of those five dead people had a firearm.

Everyone else in the restaurant and the Wal-Mart? They all survived, unharmed.

The nutters used to just have big mouths & we could laugh at them when they left the bar. Now thanks to the spineless government we have, they have big guns & have to fear sending our kids to school or the mall. This isn't happening in other western democracies, just "American Exceptionalism".

The problem is that the situation isn't static. It has a dynamic of its own. Unfortunately, these shootings will only increase in number, each one "inspiring" others as the number of insane folks only grows. That is the real epidemic in today's America.
At some point the citizens of this country will have to choose if to continue living, or die in the name of a "principle our founding fathers included in the constitution".
Yes, we aren't there yet, but in the future, who knows?

I had no idea it had been that many. Epidemic indeed.

Not schools only. Every mad dog dissatisfied with life, the government, his coworkers or girlfriend, is shooting to kill innocent stand biers, mall shoppers, the police, (in one case he targeted firefighters), the town board, the mayor, his neighbors. All these are low life creatures empowered by guns. Holding a M15 or 45 transforms them form nobody to somebody.

The founding fathers didn't envision this situation, for sure. Almost 250 years ago, guns mentioned in the constitution were intended for a different environment, circumstances and existence, but such is life.

Also back then, most guns were single shot, single load muskets.

Not high-powered semi-automatic handguns and military-grade assault rifles. I'm sure the Founders themselves would have passed gun control laws or even bypassed the second amendment themselves if faced with the idea of the common citizenry possessing such high powered weaponry.

This just shows that you have no idea of the intent of the founding fathers.

The Bill Of Rights are all protections for the citizens from the government. The idea of allowing the citizens to have weapons was to help deter an out of control government. You're not going to stop a couple of soldiers with M16's with a muzzle load musket.

OF course...and how are you going to stop the tanks/aircraft....We need these legal for everyone asap I'm not sure I'd be wanting to fly in a 747 anymore though since any wacko could take it out the plane easily on approach or take off. Stick to driving. LOL

These are legal aren't they? I have a right to bear arms, and we can't wash this down to only pertain to a portion of armory. This would mean we have no right at all.
