Well, that's not a surprise at all! I'm amazed they didn't know that some countries deny entry to convicted felons! It's sad that this happens as he's turning his life around, but actions have consequences and this is one of them.

I have been critical of the guy, but this quote:

'I really wanted to go there. I still don't understand quite what happened but I know there's no ill will. They're [Border Force] doing their job.'

shows some humility and a realistic mindset so far from the entitlement and self-centeredness that so many people, including those with no dubious history at all, have these days. Especially in airports...

I have to respect that. I hope he gets his chance.

I am feeling unusually Pollyanna-ish today, I guess :-)
