WordNutDaily founder Joseph Farah was arrested at a Washington airport with a loaded pistol in his carry on.

Farah said he arose “somewhat groggy” Sunday morning, checked his computer bag for his revolver and didn’t see it. Transportation Security Administration personnel using a conveyor belt x-ray machine at Dulles discovered the gun.

“The TSA agents were very nice. They expressed concern about my making the flight. They called the Virginia police as is protocol. They took photos of the firearm and me. They gave me a summons. Then they sent me on my way.”

Those nice men should work at the Mexican border. I wonder if a dark skinned Paki would have received the same treatment ...or been tackled.

With 70 million legal gun owners in the US and nearly 200 million guns, this is obviously a rare occurrence.

No, it's not, Pedro.

According to the TSA's own website, an average of 5 guns a day are taken from people's carry on luggage. In 2013, they saw a 16.5% increase in the number of guns confiscated from hand luggage.

5x a day is not a 'rare' occurrence.

We have this regularly down here at our airports. The wife of Ted Nugent and Barry Switzer, former Cowboys coach were two more notables that had this happen. Rental cars routinely find guns under the seat when the owner forgets and leaves it.

No biggie.

Do you know the definition of rare? If not, I can post a link to the definition for you.

In the US, 1.8 million air passengers pass through our airports every single day ( Traveler Information | Transportation Security Administration ).

So you are saying that 5 out of 1.8 million isn't rare?

Yeah, I'll go ahead and post that link now.

Rare - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

There, now you won't make that mistake again.

It's still all too common.

Remember, 5 is just the number they *catch*.

Include people who 'forget' knives, grenades and other explosives...

Or screaming liberal Sean Penn, who was caught packing heat at a NY airport after 9/11, and who was released, then successfully swept it under the rug.

Not to worry, though--he's been pw'd by Charlize Theron, and claims to have "melted down" his collection.

Yeah, right.
